31st January – 1st February

London Marriott Hotel, Grosvenor Square

As discussed in my recent predictions blog, 2018 is well and truly underway and there’s plenty for us to prepare for. That’s why you’ll be able to find me, with industry peers, discussing the latest trends impacting the UK data centre and cloud industry at Datacloud UK.

I’ll be taking part in two panels on Wednesday, 31st January:

The UK Market Leadership Panel at 09:30

We’ll be exploring the latest trends impacting the UK data centre and cloud industry ranging from market strategy and spend, UK competitiveness in a global context, technological advances and implementation and the impact of macro-economic and political shifts on the industry.

Chairing the conversation will be Steve Wallage, Managing Director, BroadGroup Consulting and the panel will consist of:

  • Tim Anker, Founder and Director, Colo-X The Colocation Exchange
  • Amy Daniell, Director – Mission Critical, EMEA&I Region, AECOM
  • Detlef Spang, CEO, Colt Data Centre Services
  • Jack Bedell-Pearce, Managing Director, 4D Data Centres.

And, later in the day, at 16:00 the Brexit and the Data Centre Sector Panel – Legal and Regulatory Implications with Mark Bailey, Partner and Joint Head, TMT, Charles Russel Speechlys LLP chairing the discussions with:

  • Mike Conradi, Partner, DLA Piper LLP
  • Emma Fryer, Associate Director, techUK
  • Marcin Zmaczynski, Senior Marketing Executive CEE, Aruba
  • Jack Bedell-Pearce, Managing Director, 4D Data Centres.

As negotiations between the UK and the EU continue their inexorable path to Brexit, we’ll be discussing what are the implications for the data centre industry? What legal and regulatory implications need to be taken into account? Will the UK retain its position not only as a pivotal European hub, but also as a gateway to and from international markets? Will the move boost the UK data economy and open new opportunities, or prove a boon for competing European locations?
