Brandwatch
Principal activity
Brandwatch is one the world's leading tools for monitoring and capturing social media. Today, social networks are a massive indicator of consumer influence and brand positioning online. So for companies to know what and where discussions are taking place surrounding their brand online is imperative. Brandwatch captures, digests and translates this data into meaningful and useful information. Armed with this information, marketers can structure and track the direction and focus of their social media campaigns. Launched in August 2007, Brandwatch is used by customers around the world to monitor, capture and analyse trends in social media.
Why colocation?
Brandwatch’s systems require large amounts of processing power, storage and connectivity to deliver the instant online analysis that their clients depend on. Using a secure data centre avoids the significant capital, recurring costs and management overheads of providing an enterprise grade facility in-house.
The 4D Data Centres experience
Prior to taking rackspace at 4D, Brandwatch held racks in several major central London data centres. As a result of seeing prices go up and service quality going down at those facilities, Steve Hunt, Systems Manager, says that they decided to move to 4D. Steve says that, aside from the obvious headache of physically relocating the hardware, the move went remarkably smoothly and most importantly of all the services worked immediately. “Two years on, everything continues to work well, and a large factor in that, then and now, is the quality and responsiveness of the technical support team. Security arrangements are well thought out and well executed, with great attention to detail and without the bureaucratic tangles seen elsewhere.”
