Internships
A 4D Data Centres internship is a great way to kick off your career with some solid experience under your belt. You’ll get the opportunity to learn and practice core skills for use in your future career and who knows, maybe you’ll end up joining us full time?
During your internship you'll gain an excellent grounding in what we do. We’ll provide you with a basic training of all our systems and you’ll get to shadow some of our technical engineers or sales people.
You’ll receive ongoing guidance and be assigned a mentor to help you integrate into the wider team. At the end of your placement, you’ll attend a review of your performance and the contribution you’ve made to the business. We also offer tailored career advice based on the skills you’ve demonstrated and your ambitions. We finish by holding a professional workshop on interview skills.
Technical Internships
Depending on your current educational status (A-Level IT, Undergraduate or Post Graduate), we will tailor your technical internship to the skills you’ve already acquired. You will be assigned to a dedicated technical member of staff who will become your mentor for the duration of your internship.
Your mentor will show you our operational and technical systems and demonstrate not only how we monitor them but also react to specific incidents. You will be given a crash course in replying to tickets, answering the phones for technical enquiries and dealing with clients on-site who need assistance or information.
We often also give our technical interns a mini-project to work on, so you can develop your research and project implementation skills under the supervision of your mentor.

Sales Internships
Our sales internships provide an excellent introduction for motivated people who are interested in getting involved in the technology industry but don’t necessarily have a technical degree under their belt.
Just like the technical internship, you will be assigned a mentor for the duration of your internship, and they will show you how our CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system works. They will give you a crash course in replying to technical sales enquiries, both by email and by phone and how to deal with unusual or bespoke requests.
You will also be given an introduction into the basics of cold calling (not as scary as it sounds) and other direct sales techniques.
To be considered for a sales internship you need to be well-presented, have a sharp, analytical mind, a keen eye for detail, a cheerful manner and the confidence to pick up the phone and talk to a complete stranger!
